Sayil Moes does it in his work with a technique that is very appropriate for this, charcoal, probably being the first material that humanity used to draw. Artist, Architect, and Sculptor, exhibiting locally and internationally, Sayil Moes has devoted his practice and life to creative expression. Using charcoal as his main tool, Sayil's works explore and portray human paradigms hidden in the subconscious mind. About his art he expresses: My work is a journey into the unknown, a deep immersion into the subconscious where the boundaries of reality blur and the surreal takes control. Using charcoal, the oldest tool of human expression, I access the rawest and wildest aspects of the psyche, allowing forms and figures to emerge from chaos. Each charcoal stroke becomes a portal to hidden emotions, unresolved tensions, and universal truths that often remain buried beneath the surface. I do not seek control in my art; instead, I surrender to the process, letting the subconscious take the lead. My figures are not limited by realism or convention. They are fragments of thought, desire, fear, and memory, coexisting in spaces where light and shadow shape their existence. By drawing without references, I remove the filter of logic, inviting the viewer into a dreamlike world where the irrational makes sense and the impossible feels familiar. At the heart of my work lies a fascination with the duality of the human experience: the seen and the unseen, the spoken and the silenced, the external person and the internal reality. I leave the marks of creation visible, embracing imperfection as a testament to the process of becoming. My art is not about achieving a polished result, but about capturing the raw and visceral emotions that remain in the spaces between thoughts. Through my work, I invite you to pause, to look beyond the surface, and to explore the infinite layers of your own subconscious. Each piece is a mirror reflecting not only my inner world but also the collective human experience, reminding us that beneath our individual façades, we are all connected by the same universal threads of emotion, memory, and existence.
