This path surprisingly turned out to have a consilience with my both individual and artistic exploration. For 10 years, I have been studying academic art at university, going from retrograde mannerism to classical examples of constructivism. In many ways, I was influenced by my studies at Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design in the department of Monumental Sculpture, whose internal methodology was based on the traditions of ‘Vkhutemas’ and BAUHAUS. The latter is known to explore a profound understanding of a form and its constructing. Hence, having passed a long way of scrutinizing shapes and having mastered this area professionally, I came to an understanding of a conflict of forms. This opened for me the profoundness of search in the concept of “deconstruction”, which is the key in my art.
