This drawing is part of a process of abstraction and experimentation . The subject and inspiration is a group of piebald cobs in a field. I have been an artist all my life. I was brought up in a London family of fine art and antique dealers who taught me about art and encouraged my creativity from an early age. I love traditional drawing and painting but I also like to experiment and push my art into new abstract forms. I have studied both classical and conceptual art at art institutions and in masterclasses with established figurative and abstract artists. I am now finding my own voice towards abstraction. Horses are a constant inspiration and catalyst for me. As for many artists, their sculptural form and beauty is greatly compelling, and for me horses symbolise something that is potent and unspoken. I am reaching for a contemporary equestrian art that shows the private nature of the animal as well as the human passion for this wonderful creature.
