About The Artwork

"Pixel Mexico '68" is part of a series of portraits meant to be the artistic representation of the face recognition task the human brain is capable of. A little structure. inside the temporal lobes, called the fusiform gyrus, allows us to recognize the human face even without having details. In addition to taking inspirationg from French Pointillism, this artwork is also inspired by '80s Pixel Art. The chosen photo (Smith and Carlos at the Olympics in'68) compensates for the lack of details, because is part of our collective and cognitive heritage. The artwork will be sold with a a wooden blackframe, white passepartout (2,5 cm) and a glass panel. Size without frame: 38 x 49 cm (15 x 19 in) Size including frame: 46 x 58 x 1,5 cm (18 x 23 x 0,6 in) The artwork is signed by the artist and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It will be carefully packed and shipped by traceable courier. The usual shipping time outside the European Union is 15-20 working days, because a shipping document issued by Ufficio delle Belle Arti is required in order to get the artwork through customs.
