About The Artwork

"Follow The Light" As I walk into my studio, the rippling reflections of light, off some of my textured high glossed works gave me an idea to create a black and white textured art works. That was reflective. I love a challenge and wanted a piece that the reflected light would follow you and every step would give you visually some thing different. This started out as fun, then ended up as an obsession. After several attempts I thought I had the texture and the spacings of the lines just right. Then the contrasting feature just off set from centre. Then the colouring and the multiple layers of gloss varnish. I love it when a plan comes together. YES. When viewing this works one has to pass by it several times, just to watch the reflections continually change. Fabulous in any light conditions. For a very simple looking art works it sure took a fair bit of time to create. The fun part of my work is that I only create art to satisfy ME. This piece is 91 cm wide 122 cm high and 4 cm deep. It weighs approximately 3.5 Kgs. It is wired ready to hang and has a Certificate of Authenticity on the back.

He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination.
