Yuri Grigoryan lives and works in Moscow. In 1969 he graduated from the theater department of the Moscow Art School 1905, and in 1976 – Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, workshop Professor N. Ponomarev. The institute was the beginning of creative activity: the first Youth participation in the exhibition of Moscow artists in 1972. Featuring rare capacity for work and hard work, by the end of high school Grigoryan Yuri was able to report to the exhibition in the magazine “Youth” more than 70 paintings. Within two years after Yuri Grigoryan this was a scholar of the Union of Artists USSR. For the work “Armenian woman” Yuri Grigoryan awarded the Gold Medal at the exhibition “Contemporary Soviet art “in Japan in 1987. Master features underscore the creative artist – bright coloristic saturation, complex texture, harmoniously built composition. Despite the diversity of genres (Grigorian writes and landscapes, and still lifes and nude model, and genre paintings) are especially good at female artist portraits. More than 50 works of Yuri Grigoryan are in the collections of the state museums and galleries in Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Art, Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, State Gallery of Armenia, and others.
