My painting represents Cupid and Psyche in a completely different context compared to the classic representations of these two mythological figures. This depiction focuses on the struggle between the forces of love and darkness within a relationship, rather than their ideal and perfect love. In the...

I was born on December 14, 1975 in southern Italy (Cosenza), in a house entirely frescoed by my brother Major Arthur. I grew up experimenting with various art techniques in my own studio brother, within which there was also a rich art library that fed mine insatiable thirst for knowledge. After a degree in Philosophy obtained with 110 cum laude at the University of Calabria in 2002, I decided to devote myself continuously to art from self taught using various techniques including painting, photography and sculpture. Since 2005 I live and work in Milan (Italy). Some of mine works on the landscape are present in the archive of the Museum of contemporary photography of Cinisello Balsamo and have been published in the book Saintscapes. Artistic research In recent years I have concentrated on figurative painting, characterized by a monochromatic and flat background, which allows the figures in the foreground to emerge in their singularity and with all their emotional charge. My artistic research explores themes such as solitude, the suspension of time and waiting. In my paintings you will often find solitary figures, without context, which gives them a sense of timelessness. The figures often have an indecipherable face, as if they lived in a completely separate space, thus revealing their pictorial essence. They don't try to pretend to be anything else, but show themselves for what they are: isolated figures in a context separated from reality and present only as figures. They exist in a different space, they look at us, but their gaze is fixed on the void, in the eternal wait for something to happen in their monotonous existence. My painting therefore tries to reflect on itself, exploring the relationship and the difference between reality and the image of reality. The figures seem to come from a dream world, emphasizing the subjective nature of reality and suggesting that our perception of the world is always influenced by our imagination and our dreams. In my artistic work I have chosen to use subjects that can be considered as archetypes rather than representations of real people. These subjects represent the essence of human emotions and experiences that we all share, such as loneliness, conformity, immobility, but also the hope and strength of the individual. At times, these subjects may seem abstract or surreal, but it is this aspect that allows them to more fully represent the emotions and experiences I seek to express.
