About The Artwork
The work is inspired by the butcher's diagrams for beef meat cuts. I decided to portray an Angus bull with a dripping effect to dissolve the common graphic look and enhance the authentic, handmade painting effect. The handwritten font also plays the same role and makes the otherwise poster-like imagery more artistic.

Slovenia
Lara Ješe is a visual artist living and working in Kranj, Slovenia. She doesn’t stick to a particular style or a medium, but most of her production resides in figurative painting. Colder and darker tones from her earlier work with animal motifs have made way for increasingly saturated colours and strong, bold shapes. In 2016 she acquired her MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and also studied at the HGB Leipzig in Germany. She has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, most notably in Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, and the USA.
