About The Artwork
Break Free came into existence as I sang and danced to the venerable genius band, Queen. Their music and messages strike a chord (get it?) with me creatively and my Break Free plays homage to the 1970 hit that became regarded as an anthem of the fight against oppression. My bold and graphic painting has shapes and colors and designs that I created organically as I danced and sang in my studio. That said, I do feel that although I lay the paint freely, I am constantly editing and modifying the color and spatial relationships across the surface. This painting is documentation of my feelings as I lay on canvas who I am as an artist and I am BREAKING FREE! Since it will ship in a tube, you have the opportunity to install the work horizontally or vertically, as you deem fit for you. I will also ship with it the Certificate of Authenticity for your records. I have sealed this work with an archival sealant as well. Enjoy!

I am driven to create work by distilling nature into abstract form that beckons me into the sublime, that place where emotion holds dominance over vocabulary. My work is influenced by my extensive travels, love of nature, and living along the coast of Rhode Island. My abstract and representational paintings, installations, sculptures, and large-scale photographic works are characterized by organic forms and the use of nontraditional materials. My most recent paintings, "Stasis & Metamorphosis Collections," are poetic. Their graceful sculptural and curvilinear forms in sophisticated color palettes seem to float in the atmosphere.
