Inside the packaging will be included a printed sheet containing the story related to this canvas. That's the story behind "Camille" painting: Croatia – September 1988 “My first trip was at the age of 14. In reality it was not really a trip, but it was a real uprooting. My parents enrolled me in a private school in Lausanne and I spent all my high school years there. I didn't know anyone, let alone speak French. The first day they made me sit next to a little girl, Camille. Her green eyes smiled at me over the books. Day after day, sitting next to her, I discovered something I liked about her. I realized that I was falling in love, but during the whole school period I never declared myself. Although I really cared about her, her personality was still immature. Over the years it was with great pleasure that I witnessed the transformation of Camille from a naive girl into a conscious woman ... but, after school, we went our separate ways. 365 days went by and summer arrived. I decided to call Camille. After quickly telling me about her life, she told me she had been left by her first companion. Ironically, the same thing had happened to me!Laughing at me, she asked if I had any plans for the summer. At that moment I thought of how much the sadness of something ending is equivalent to the joy of a new beginning. We decided to go.. We lost ourselves on the island for a week. Sunsets, walks, lunches and dinners together. Seas of words and sharing silences. Whatever she asked me, I would have done, but I was young and unprepared for all of this. We never touched , although we shared everything. When the week was over, we simply returned to our own lives. Looking back now, I see Camille as an unfinished work. Fascinating and mysterious precisely because it never ended.”

Gambatesa's work is a synthesis of the light and color of a place. The artist dedicates his entire life to "travel" and makes it the main body of his painting practice. Gioacchino succeeds in making us realize that exploration is a private thing. In fact, each of us, experiencing the discovery of a place, actually discovers it for the first time, and the resulting feeling is the same as that experienced by ancient explorers, as if we were a modern-day Christopher Columbus. When we look at a work by Gioacchino Saltagrillo Gambatesa we observe the very personal emotion that the artist felt in discovering a place, a person, a situation. Let us, then, be inspired by those vibrant colors and light that these works emanate. Let us go there, into the place described by the title of the work, allowing ourselves five minutes of...meditation...
