ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Title: “Colorful Longhorn 2: A Large Southwestern Longhorn - Cow – Bull – Steer Original Acrylic Painting on Canvas.” This artwork is designed to make any room feel more happy and joyful. Inspired by the miracle and beauty of nature and the happiness you feel when you’re surrounded by it. Reminiscent of the quintessential southwest fauvist artist, John Nieto; expressionist painter, Leroy Nieman; and the brushwork of Vincent Van Gogh (particularly the dotted brushwork of his later portraiture), this series of animal paintings unites their traditions of depicting colorful animals in an iconic composition. The painting is gallery wrapped (stapled on the back) and all sides are painted, so no additional framing is necessary. Will ship in a padded wooden crate with a Certificate of Authenticity. Colors talk. Colors tell stories. Colors evoke emotions. Be Happy. Surround Yourself with JOY.

Carol Korpi McKinley is an internationally acclaimed American artist best known for her large-scale depictions of animals as well as her lush, color-drenched landscapes. Her artwork is exhibited in numerous corporate and private collections around the world. Born in northern Michigan, Carol spent her childhood surrounded by creativity. Her parents, being true entrepreneurs, were always seeking out new endeavors and adventures. They instilled in her early on that spirit of adventure and resourcefulness. She received her first set of paints at the age of four, became fascinated with the colors, and hasn’t stopped painting since. While in college, she began studying sculpture while continuing to paint, and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University in 1991. The continuity in Carol’s work revolves around her attraction to nature. Carol enjoys creating magnificent landscapes, often combining different subjects she encounters on her many travels. Her visually appealing large-scale works continue to sell out, earning her fans around the globe. When she’s not in her studio painting or studying, Carol is traveling the world with her husband John, in search of adventure and inspiration. Recent journeys to faraway places such as Australia, Nepal, Bhutan, and Namibia have helped to supplement her vast reserve of future projects. Carol takes thousands of photos on her journeys which she uses as reference material for her paintings. This talented and prolific artist currently maintains two studios in South Florida, where the artist paints under the enclave of beautiful oak trees. Her home is also a gallery, showcasing her work against the backdrop of faux-finished walls, painted furniture, mosaics, and the many treasures she has collected over the years.
