Janelle Schneider is a Magical Realist with an interest in inter-connectedness. Mainly self-taught, she has been painting using oils and acrylics most of her life. She received a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and has maintained a consistent studio practice concurrently with her career as a digital artist for over 16 years; first in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the more recently here in the Pacific Northwest. Her creative journey has been an exploration of relationship and connection in various forms. Her work explores the intersection of memory and emotion to create thought-provoking resonant pieces in acrylic on canvas or wood. The artist participated in Washington County Open Studios events in 2023 and 2024. Janelle's painting titled "New Coat" has been included in Studio Visit Magazine, Volume 52, a digital and print publication. Her work is also included in fourteen paintings created for the Suit of Wands in The Science Tarot, which was originally published in Berkeley in 2010. Her work has exhibited in various galleries and art events in the Pacific Northwest, San Francisco Bay and Santa Monica areas and is held in private collections internationally.
