ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Lovely garden at Cumwhitton that I felt I just had to paint. There were great foxgloves in the border there and sorrel plants which are a treat to paint. There was a red Virginia creeper in the centre which I think leads you to the cottages. I often use a spritzer to start this kind of work which helps the water colours to really blend- makes it nice and washy. I've tried to use colours which capture the evening light.

I paint in many media but oils and watercolours are my favourites. My favourite artists are Monet and Degas. I have been very influenced by impressionism and mainly work in this style.
