Ships in a Box
The ruins of Dryslwyn castle near Llandeilo in South Wales, UK pictured under a dark brooding sky. A shaft of light illuminates the top of the hill in stark contrast with the shadowy scrubby plant growth in the foreground. Welsh palette-knife painter Kyffin Williams is a major influence on this piece but also one can also see hints of Vincent Van Gogh in the rawness of the image and the roughly mixed vigorous application of impasto paint. The painting was produced in a single session with no overworking. This dramatic piece is offered unframed so the buyer can frame it to their own taste. Signed and dated 6 January 2019

United Kingdom
I am a painter of rugged landscapes following the tradition of Welsh painter Kyffin Williams and Vincent Van Gogh. In my recent work the palette knife has taken over from the brush and I am more interested in the effects of impasto paint and the act of translating experiences into images.
