The Five Shades for the Torah cycle was conceived in 2020. Studying materials from the "Old Testament" for many years, I drew plots for writing my works, this is a cycle of works "Come and See", etc. All this was done in a realistic manner of painting.Later I turned to the study of materials from the Torah. Certainly the "Old Testament" is a Christian reference to Jewish scriptures. My task was how to convey the historical events described in this holy book? The Torah forbids depictions of humans, animals, and the entire material world. And then I was visited by the idea that if the Torah forbids the image of the material, then nothing is said there about the prohibition of the abstract, meta-physical.But through an abstract image it is possible to convey an associative series of a person's perception of his fantasies. So I decided. At the beginning, I read one chapter from the Torah, and associations of those events in the form of colors and symbols arose in my mind. Thus, from study to study, a number of compositions were born, which later turned into five large canvases. Each canvas represents and displays one of the Pentateuch from the Torah. This work presents the second book of "Exodus" about the exit of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery. At this very moment, when I am writing these lines, My Ukrainian people are repelling Russian aggression and Ukrainian children, old people and women are dying under the blows of Russian bombs. Ukraine is fighting for its independence against Russian slavery. Therefore, the book "Exodus" in my opinion is very symbolic today.
