I was born in Montreal in 1963.I proved quite gifted for drawing at an early age and focused on portrait and animal scenes. Initially taken by figurative art, I would have never believed I could become so passionate about abstract art forms. The roads that led to this transition were many: my university formation in arts, master classes taken with the likes of Sylvie Cloutier, Serge Babeux, Chantal Deserres, Seymour Segal and others. This challenging apprenticeship enabled me to widen my own horizons, develop my own techniques and ultimately to produce my own creations, all in the last few years. Passionate about travel and photography, the landscapes that fill my mind act as my spiritual nourishment and I had virtually fallen in love with the oceans. In the last few years, having made a few trips to the Hawaian Islands,I had been quite under that spell. The immensity of the sea, the incessant waves breaking on the volcano stones are a source of inspiration quite present in my works. The spellbinding movement ofthe sea, at time violent, is fertile ground for the soul; then suddenly, a journey begins, takes shape, then fills with colors. The lay out or the drawing is the core: I will often use pastels and oils sticks tocomplement the painting and create the lines and outlines that are subtly suggested. My ultimate goal is to convey the visual energy that will stimulate the mind of the onlooker and take them along with me on this voyage thru my inner feelings and senses.
