Painting: Oil, Gold Leaf, Silver Leaf on Other.
Fyrfos is a painted vignette featuring pagan runes from the Austrian occultist Guido Von List. These mystical runes invoke the notion of awakening. The work is also an illustration to the first part of the story of Thus Spoke Tharathustra, and evokes the Nietzschen idea of man waking up in a high cave in the mountains to sunrise and the realisation that he can be a super being in control of his own destiny. The owl is an allegorical symbol of wisdom.
