I treat the creation of my paintings from a philosophical point of view. Painting and nature helps me understand life. Darkness is a part of nature and without it there will be no light. I treat light and darkness with equal share of respect and admiration. After all, each of us has both. Through my paintings, I learn myself, the way nature creates me and love the dark and light sides of character in myself. I admire the works of the Itinerant artists (Kuindzhi, Korovin, Vrubel), impressionists (Monet, Cezanne) and modern Chinese watercolorists (Liu Yi, Xianmin, Yuko Narayama). I love to study natural phenomena of light and color. I like to watch how the saturation, contrast of objects change, under natural or artificial lighting. I am inspired by morning light rays, shimmering reflections, dynamic water reflections and purple clouds at sunset. I am a member of the Union of Watercolors of Russia. I work in watercolor technique in the style of realism. I work in the open air and in the workshop.
