Painting: Digital, Acrylic, Oil, Spray Paint, Ink on Canvas.
Acrylic, acrylic based medium, archival varnish UV protection, oil and pigmented Ultrachrome K3 inkjet prints, fabric (collage) on canvas, 2 panels
The basis of the artwork is an overpainted auction advertisement of Andy Warhol's »Jackie«. The overpainted printed matter has been digitalized and reworked on the computer. Parts of it have been printed out and mounted on canvas with a transparent archival varnish UV protection, which seals the print, and mixed with acrylics creates glazes in various sheens. The overpainting serves as an underpainting that loops behind expressionist brushwork. Unlike on the computer, where the functional logic is based on described rules, the material on canvas becomes the topic as a sequence of actions—taking on an almost sculptural character. The result is a multilayered composition in which figure and ground seem to continually shift between the analog painting, and its digital counterpart.
The artwork, 2 panels, each 160 x 110 cm will be shipped in one crate. Shipping dimensions: 167 x 120 x 20 cm, 81 kg
