The fascination of Kay with dynamics is clearly visible in this triptych. The gulls are descending and ready to land, to ground. The movement also implies the metaphorical meaning of grounding; back to basic. The way the gulls are painted is rough, which gives the viewer the possibility to fill up the details and it makes space for imagination.
If you see birds in the sky, it means you look up. You notice the mastership, the easiness of the birds. Looking up opens your view, and opens your heart.

"I find it more fascinating to look at art and music as ways to discover yourself and connect with others, rather than simply seeing them as creating works of art or performing pieces of music". Kay Sleking is a multi-talented artist and entrepreneur. He paints, composes, performs, and is the initiator of innovative art & music projects. From a young age, he was drawn to art and music. After a short career as a graphic designer, he switched to music and performed worldwide, gave masterclasses, and became a professor at the Conservatorium of Rotterdam. To be able to give respect to his skills as a painter, he devoted himself to the arts. Both ways of expression, music, and art, enhance each other. Inspired by stillness, spaciousness, and dynamics, his choice to paint birds and seascapes, as a transmitter to the openness, came naturally. His paintings are part of the lives of art collectors in Italy, the U.S.A, Germany, France, Switzerland, and The Netherlands. More information about his work as a visual artist and musician you can find on www.kaysleking.com
