I'm interested in the role of interference in the forming of human subjectivity and explore that by using different materials and observing interactions and transformations that occur with passing time. In this piece, collected salt from the Atacama desert adds not only the memory of the place but also reacts with the humidity absorbing water from the air and making the face “cry”, a process which lasted a year and stained the painting day after day till it was stopped with finishing varnish. Materials: Acrylic paint mixed with salt, graphite, soft pastels, tracing paper, spray paint, glue and water on canvas.
