Mental health & illness is the main inspiration behind my work. This 36 x 36" mixed media painting on canvas featuring a glitter skull wearing a crown was influenced by Jean-Michel Basquiat. One of my favourite artists of all time. People ask me why I love skulls and the meaning behind them in my work. I’ve always gravitated towards them because regardless of where you come from, your background, how you look and or how much you own. In the end, when you strip all of that away, you realize that we’re all really the same, human beings trying to figure out life. So if you’re struggling or going through a tough time, don’t ever feel that there’s a life better than yours. Appreciate what you have, your family & friends. I know I wouldn’t be where I am without them. As J.Cole says “For what’s money without happiness? Or hard times without the people you love?” Materials: Glitter Glue, Dimensional Fabric Paint, Oil Marker, Spray Paint - Unframed - Includes an attached wire on the back of canvas for hanging - Gallery Wrapped Heavy Duty Canvas

Pandora Owl was born and raised outside of Toronto, Ontario. Started her journey, building a career in advertising until she decided to make a leap into following her art passion. Her art focuses on mental health & illness in order to help comfort those who suffer from it as well as exposing it to those who don’t. She leverages mixed media in order to tell her stories, often referencing her youth by incorporating items such as comics and or toys; a style she developed in her art class back in high school. Her textured mixed media art has many layers that can be seen and felt but most importantly ignite and continue the conversation of mental health as it’s increasingly making its way to the forefront.
