We have spent two years now with different variations of being constrained to our homes or moving around our own cities or traveling abroad with the concern about the pandemia. Last year, I was reading articles about the increase in alcohol consumption and domestic violence as a result of being "trapped" in the home. A friend who is also a fine artist and I were talking about how fun it would be to create a composition where things are out of place. Then, I saw a post in LinkedIn about decanting and I thought... "wouldn't it be fun to point a fan at the decanter?" I think that night "El Maestro Dali" visited me in my dreams, and the next day this composition happened. The background is grey because in all the paintings I do about wine, I use that background to represent the brain matter. The writing "La vida loca" means crazy life in Spanish. This is a limited palette of red and grey.

Using oil or acrylic on canvas, paper or wood, I paint landscapes, cityscapes, and surreal-impressionist representations of women. Brightly colored and uplifting, my paintings tell stories that touch the relationship of sentient beings with nature, and the tribulations of women throughout history. Some of these landscapes and cities will disappear due to climate change. I want to leave a legacy of what they used to look like.
