Marina Startseva was born in Moscow, Russia. She studied fine art at the studio of "Russian Cezan" Iossif Gurvitch and at the Moscow Fine arts and Architecture University. Since 1996 she lives and works in Strasbourg, France. Her artworks were awarded Prestige Prize at "Creators of Century" Art salon in France(20140. In 2008, she was awarded at the French Biennale de Lyon and got the First Prize at "Creators of Century" Art salon in France. Revisiting Art nouveau style in a contemporaneous spin of her figurative paintings, Marina often takes woman as her main subject matter. She captures characters that are reminiscent of semi-mythical figures and skillfully plays with a perspective, creating beautiful and fluid backgrounds. Sumptuous colors of her artworks and their incontestable elegance overwhelm the viewer with their inherent beauty.
