My name is Vilena, welcome to my page! I'm botanical artist from Moscow, Russia. All my life I was associated with art and culture. And couple years ago I became interested in botanical art. Now i paint plants with watercolors. One of the reasons why I chose this direction: I am allergic to flowers, but I am fascinated by all these shades of color, stamens, details, and I want to transfer all this beauty in my works so that I can admire them without suffering from sneezing! My today's goals, as artist is to paint series of tropical flowers from Thailand (because i really admire by the nature of this country) and improve my skills to the perfection. I often use wet techniques and glazes, but most of all I love working in dry technique with details. As I have already mentioned: streaks, stamens, texture are my love! On my Instagram page, I am always open to dialogue and ready to support novice artists, because I think, it’s very important. I use high-quality watercolors with good light resistance (mostly Daniel Smith and Winsor&Newton) and 100% cotton paper (Saunders Waterford) in my paintings. Also I don't do prints of my work, because I want that each art was in one copy. I'm the member of Russian Society of Botanical Art Lovers since the end of 2019. I'm the member of Association of British Botanical Artists (ABBA) since the summer of 2021. You always can message me via Instagram or e-mail - .
