About The Artwork

A moment in time, a reflection on the water, a sound echoing in the distance, a reverberating experience. Each of these may be an extension of Prime Variable, a source of inspiration and wonder. This beautiful acrylic on canvas comes rolled. To more than cover the cost of restretching on 1.5 inch gallery stretcher bars, 10% has been deducted from the usual retail price. Please note that the signature mark is located on the bottom, left-hand spine. The full title and signature are on the back.

My paintings capture the luminosity and drama of abstract landscapes with a deep sense of atmosphere. There is a fine balance between the purely abstract and the inferred reference to landscapes or urban environment in my work. Each painting represents my intuitive journey through multiple brushstrokes and layers of paint. My emotional and subconscious responses to the painting process inform the relationship between light, colour and contrast, creating a lyrical or poetic resonance. I only consider a piece completed when I see the "life" in it. My work aims to inspire viewers to explore the painted surface, to experience the effects of light, colour and contrast, and to appreciate the forms that emerge. Born in Toronto, Carbone is an artist whose work has been showcased in galleries across Canada, including the Toronto International Art Fair. He discovered his talent for composition as a graphic designer. Seeking to expand his horizons, he studied Art Studio and Art History at the University of Toronto, where he became captivated by printmaking and its techniques, which have since become a major influence in his abstract art.
