Reincarnation... Life is an endless ripple through the stream of time... It is believed to be one of the greatest myths of African cosmology, the existence of interdependent worlds where one is dead in a world transcends to another world to assume a new role. To be reborn without knowledge of what pre-existed... This idea is particularly vivid as recounted by the experience of babies who die almost immediately after they are born and come back again to the same mother with scars gotten from the previous short life, this is popularly known as 'ogbanje', an evil spirit that torments its mother... It is a well-known fact that babies have also been born bearing particular body scars found on family members who just passed....coincidence??? Reincarnation could also be an idea of an inspiration that dies at some point and resurrects at another point in another form. We have all been here before and will keep coming back again without a knowledge of who we were previously, but with a new opportunity to see and do things differently. When we sleep, for instance, we die temporarily, transcend to a world of our thoughts called dreams where our physical and metaphysical worlds clash and merge to endless possibilities, where we exercise superhuman abilities that are practically impossible to perform on the real world we exist in. When we wake up we are often refreshed with new energy and resolution to put yesterday behind and give our best to today and thus the cycle continues. Being reborn is something we all go through regardless of our beliefs... I float in between styles, seeking to be reborn in a new form with each artwork I make, I search for new worlds where a spirit of me coexists with the impression I just created.... it is not about applying colors its about the movement of being from me to my canvas...
