Every piece of art is “a question and an answer”, according to Karina Guerrero. She believes that understanding our most inner feelings and our subconscious deepest roots is the key to understand ourselves and answering the question, “What is my version of happiness ?”. Guerrero born in Caracas, Venezuela coming from a Colombian family, she graduated as an engineer in 2012 and moved to Miami, USA, in 2015: without the full knowledge of the language, Guerrero ignited her passion for painting with patterns, that echo the rich tapestry of Colombian culture, drawing inspiration from the architecture and crafts of her heritage, This artistic journey has become her language and the way to remain connected to her roots while discovering her own voice. Currently based in Knoxville, Tennessee, since 2024, her self-taught work is constantly changing as she questions her approach to the medium and herself as an artist. Her work has been shown in her hometown as well as in major cities across the United States, including Miami, Dallas and New York, her pieces have been featured at severs art festivals and gallery shows.
