VIEW IN MY ROOM
I remember during primary school a friend once asked me 'why do you like drawing explosions?'. I honestly was unable to give him a solid answer. In my mind I thought explosions were just cool. Maybe in his mind he thought I was a psychopathic primary school student priming myself to become a future threat to society. Looking back at the questions now, I'm still not sure if I would be able to answer that question. I guess its more of the physics behind the explosion that I am more curious about rather than it's function. It can be beautiful when used correctly, but at the moment some idiots would rather use it for harm. The long winded explosion explanation only described a third of this pieces composition. The gorilla looking thing was a drawing of an image that I found on the internet. It might have been from one of those Japanese sci-fi shows with actors in monster costumes. The character spewing gibberish is my own original drawing, but the random lines in the text bubble was in response to Robert Crumb's older brother. I remember watching a documentary where Crumb's older brother was drawing comics, and as his mentality deteriorated, his artwork started to become really bizarre. I thought his artwork was really interesting, but unfortunately he is with us no more. The documentary is really great if anyone is interested.

Hong Kong
Born in South Korea, Seoul Lives and works in Hong Kong I am currently working part time as an artist, and full time as an art assistant at a school. I use this blog as a space to tell stories, share ideas and show artwork. My focus was in animation, but I have found myself leaning closer towards painting and drawing. I like playing basketball, going on long walks, and also going on the occasional hike. One day I wish to work full time as an artist, and travel the world.
