Spring is here! This work was inspired by the forsythia growing in Clare's garden. This lovely and brilliant flower creates a splash of colour and energy, which gives a feeling of both optimism and awakening. It represents the sun and happy anticipation. After a long and very cold winter, we are longing to see the warm sun and the first the flowers of spring. This piece was painted on 140 lb (rough) watercolour paper and has been mounted within a 2.5 inch mat (making it 13in x 11in). It was painted with Windsor & Newton watercolour paints with much joy.

Bonnie Czegledi, is a Canadian multi-media visual artist and watercolourist. Inspired by the beauty of natural landscapes, the interplay of colours and light and the enchanting melodies of lyrical music. Her vibrant works capture the essence of joy and happiness. She is also an author (e.g. Crimes Against Art: International Art and Cultural Heritage Law, Thomson Reuters, which deals with the importance of the recovery of stolen art), a lecturer, an impassioned art advocate and International Art and Cultural Heritage lawyer. Her abstracts and vibrant watercolours have been shown in Canada and Europe and featured in architectural magazines. An example of one of her works of art is “Blue Eyes” (Acrylic and gold leaf on carved wood 50” x 50”), which illustrates an intermingling of all her inspirations. The steel-blue colour was created on her own palette evoking the colour of her sons' eyes when they were born before they turned dark brown. Heavenly colours. The work also draws on her memories of the summer night sky in the Southwest of France. Additionally, she is inspired by the landscape of light and rhythm of sound from memories of her childhood summers in rural Ontario. Finally, the work is painted on wood, the material from which Czegledi's paternal grandfather carved his magical musical instruments. Ephemera also plays an important role in Czegledi's abstract paintings. Ephemera are collectable items not meant to have lasting value. She incorporates personal ephemera and objets trouvés into her work, turning them into art that has true and everlasting meaning.
