The flying donkey is a work of imagination- certainly not a realistic work, that wants to imitate "a flying donkey", but nevertheless a flying donkey that imitates somehow reality. It is conceived technically, as an experiment of colors and shapes, as colors in shape, that produce fantastical beings and objects, more or less in the surrealist and even the mannerist tradition. The result is very interesting stylistically, as well as it is self-gratifying, since there is no sketches or planned preconceptions. It is only a free flowing exercise on canvas, which often surprises the person who does it, the creator. It is as if these fantastical beings appear at the tip of the brush out of nowhere, or a subconscious somewhere, fresh, complete, impossible....It is a different method with different every-time results, enhancing the imagination and enriching the spirit.
