Neon portrait of myself. -------------------------------------------- Polet Andrade is a young mexican multidisciplinary artist and poet. During her formative years she studied digital arts and literature, and now she uses this knowledge to explore the sensory world of the 21st century. Her work is about the present. She uses art and poetry as mean for exploration of the mundane through the use of glitches, negative spaces and thick charcoal lines in combination with the expression of the body and the face of the subjects she encounters. She resignifies the fact of being present, by expanding the emotions, fears, and the unsong stories of the characters in her drawings. And she finds joy on finding art and poetry in the most unusual and banal places.

I am a mexican artist and poet. My art focuses on women, childhood and the negative spaces bodies portray as moving art. I use watercolor in conjunction with bold-charcoal curves because this pitch black medium represents an ever-present circle that compliments color; just as light compliments dark. The same way, my style is a contrasting medium between opposties: joy and sorrow, nostalgia and wonder or Static and movement.
