This painting is symbolic of the growing divide between the rich and the poor in the world. The well-off and wealthy live healthy and happy while those born at the bottom rungs of society must claw, scrape, and compete for a position just a little ahead of where they were, never truly within sight of a comfortable existence no matter how hard they work. Those at the top are supported by those beneath, and more often than not will fight to maintain their supremacy. The lower mass of humanity holds the top mass up, while those at the top keep the ones on the bottom down.

I paint dualities. My art is the study of contrasts, dichotomies. It thrives in the boundaries between light and dark, optimism and nihilism. I work with forces that are both contradicting of and inherent in one another. I manifest these forces in my canvases weaving together symbolism, meaning, and abstraction. With my brush I express both conflict and symbiosis and give form to ideas that defy capture.
