The nut (From the shadow series) Painting

"Our crust of civilization hides a kind of brute with a prehistoric appearance..." Carl Gustav Jung "The nut" is about duality, about the dark and the bright side, about the consciousness and the unconsciouness, about the shadow, an idea from Carl Jung's reasearch. This dark side is an is an important part of an individual, making it a whole, and represents those unaccepted personal characteristics. It's like a continuous battle between light and shadow, this being the motivation why I chose this work to be part of a series, which when placed in order imitates the movement around its own axis.
