ABOUT THE ARTWORK
... This is the kind of theme I regularly work, having my studio as scenery. I joint some elements to an already existing spontaneous composition —tables, chairs, paintings and other elements—, and I just look for the most exciting lighting. I like to take advantage of the natural position of the things so as to get the most natural final result. In general I work this themes and big sized paintings using oil on canvas, due to the demanding nature of gesture, manytimes wide —there is a mix of impressionism, expressionism and gestual, in spite of none "ism" to be enough for aproaching a painting. It was worked from the natural, without resource to photography About feelings it's not easy to guess what people feel. Perhaps somebody will feel bored looking at my work, and, by other hand, different people will find out pleasant emotions. The most I can wish are good feelings.

Born in September 4, 1952, in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. My painting has as thematic universe the figure, the composition and the landscape, with no other objective beyond to register moments, people and objects which inspire me the capture; however, each work is itself a little story, a romance that I live along the experimentation. I'm not interested in creating, integrating or influencing any movement, given I look at the affinity between the author and his themes and the relationship between his thoughts and actions as the most important. Therefore, my concern is on improving my capacity for expressing my ideas, using the syntheses as a tool for recreate my visions and not as a kind of wrong conspiracy or as subterfuge, trying to respect the models' etymon, the reason of my involvement. The Naturalism is my starting point...trying to keep on reason and emotion together.
