About The Artwork

"Self-Portraits and Selfies" explores the evolution of self-representation throughout Art History in painting and photography, in combination with new Selfie trends for social media. I am fascinated by using myself as the main figure of the composition in combination with other elements to create stories that transcend from the personal to the public, based on my own experience in connection with my immediate reality. I am interested in approaching women’s issues and social equality, with a sense of urgency, to empower the female figure in the revolution of the present.
