Iva Gašparić was born in 1976 in Pula, Istria, Croatia. She graduated from the School of Economics in Pula in 1994 and enrolled the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka in 1995 (Fine Arts - majoring in painting). She graduated in 2001 as a professor of fine arts. From 1995 to 2001 she was an active author in the field of comics, and from 1999 to 2011 in painting. She has exhibited in a dozen solo exhibitions and about twenty group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. She has been awarded several prizes for painting and comics. In 2003, she passed the State Exam for Teachers of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and in the same year she became a member of the Croatian Arts Society of Istria. Today she is a vice president of that society. From 2002 to 2008 she gained teaching experience working as a teacher of fine arts in nine primary schools and as a teacher of arts in two high schools (one of them being School of Applied Arts and Design in Pula). In 2009 she started working as an external associate of Museum of Contemporary Arts of Istria (MCAI). From 2009 till 2017 she was a collaborator on 83 projects (solo, group, problem exhibitions, international and national character) working on organizational, technical, administrative, auxiliary and graphic design tasks. In 2010, pedagogical-educational activities started in MCAI (primarily group leaders in cooperation with local educational institutions). In 2015, she passed the state exam and acquired the title of museum educator - curator at the Museum Documentation Center in Zagreb. Since that year, she has been employed at MCAI as a museum educator and works on organising the museum pedagogical activities related to the program exhibition activity and other activities of the Museum, in cooperation with other employees inside and outside the Museum. She's a member of an art collective DIK from Pula, consisting of three fellow artists(Iva Gašparić, Davor Kliman and Denis Sardoz). She lives and works in Pula.
