This is the fictional, hand painted city Unicorn Bay, so named because of the epic, pristine beauty the colonists found there. Still preserved, the city perfectly integrates with her rugged and beautiful surrounds.

The painting is a message: Cities are not inherently bad

The blue water is comprised of small blue dots and speckles of purple. The metallic paints (both the gold and the blue) have a tendency to sparkle and change colour in certain lights and angles. The painting is stretched over the edge, no frame needed.

Materials used are archival, high quality. Painting has been treated with an isolation coat and varnish.

I am a scientist and artist. My hand-painted, abstract cities represent the Urban Organism, a biological interpretation of urbanisation. My cities are imagined. If a real location is painted, it is an idealised vision of the future, a case study in urbanisation. The pieces featured here do not represent my full body of work. You're seeing archival artwork only.
