About The Artwork

Quiet immersion in your own thoughts, a moment of deceleration in an increasingly fast-paced world - with my paintings I want to remind you that often the power lies in the silence and in the concentration on the little things in life. In my work I combine figurative representation and surrealism. The gaze is directed forward, uncertain, but hopefully adorned with floating color accents that radiate a lightness and mysticism. This painting is intended to awaken in the viewer the idea that the next step, although unknown, is full of vivid possibility. A back portrait of a young woman, completely at peace with herself. White and pink dots fly around her. The woman wears a blue-grey dress with frilly details. She has open, shoulder-length and slightly wavy hair. Her hair seems to be illuminated by a pink glow. These magenta-colored accents are reflected in the edge of the canvas, which is also painted. This colorful painting makes it possible to hang the picture without a frame. Framing is of course still possible. Signed and dated on the reverse

Quiet immersion in our own thoughts, a moment of deceleration in an increasingly fast-paced world - with my paintings I want to invite the viewers of my paintings to pause for a while and see that often the power lies in the silence and in the concentration on the little things in life. The gaze of my depicted figures is mostly turned away from the viewer. They are completely absorbed in themselves, are not distracted by anything - hence the monochrome background - can thus dive into another world where stillness is enjoyed. The delicate ribbons, soap bubbles, butterflies that surround my figures are thereby symbols of the preciousness of these moments. My paintings are built up in many thin layers of acrylic paint. This creates an intense colorfulness and a linear painting style. The figures on my canvases are about life-size. The viewer can identify directly with the figure and enter the scene.
