"Winter Garden" is iced castle-like structures and textures pulled along with the chromatic background—a sanctuary of unique memories of childhood. They reflect my perception of the remarkable time and place where I was grown. I was merely captivated by the fantastic atmosphere and components of the seasons changing. It all mixed with the memory of fairytales I read. Today, my creative way of exploring themes rooted in childhood makes it possible for me to go back in time with the help of art tools. ✔ The painting is signed on the front and back. It is on a gallery-wrapped canvas with finished black edges and comes ready to hang. "Winter Garden" was conceived and completed throughout January-February 2019 at the Otherworldly Dream Studio, Jerusalem. About a series "New Age": New Age is a collection of spiritually oriented works. An emotional inner trip. Picturesque and thought-provoking, these compositions quietly flow into consciousness to challenge perceptions and stimulate the senses. One of the things that brings all these paintings together and that immediately attracts attention is Water. It is no coincidence because Water characterizes the eternal flow and is has always been a symbol of purification, a redemptive force, and a center of regeneration. New Age is like an ancient spiritual or healing ritual. It offers you the opportunity to enter into the process and join in at each step, allowing the carefully crafted pacing to work on you and come to the point of transformation. From autobiography: “We are witnessing how today's mass pop culture imposes dogmas to lead us away from personal achievements. That's why I never plunged into religion or any other mass movements, and I never identified myself as of a specific tradition or country whatsoever. I firmly think the artist should nurture his uniqueness and originality, especially if he wants to devote his art research to those aspects of life that somehow reflect his inner world.” About the artist: Alexey Adonin explores the point of convergence between abstraction and surrealism to create a channel of communication between his inner world and the viewers, not only to share his personal vision but also and especially to invite viewers to elaborate their personal interpretations and narratives, establishing deep involvement both in the emotional aspect and in the intellectual one.

Artist Statement: Alexey Adonin explores the point of convergence between abstraction and surrealism to create a channel of communication between his inner world and the viewers, not only to share his personal vision but also and especially to invite viewers to elaborate their personal interpretations and narratives, establishing deep involvement both in the emotional aspect and in the intellectual one. His approach to work is without preconception, allowing random things to happen first. Then, he takes advantage of the mind's ability to find order in chaos or use a prepared sketch. Finally, Alexey mostly strives to get away from banal copying of reality, preferring instead to create one of his own—something that somehow reflects his inner world. Biography: As an explorer of the mysterious universe of oil painting, Alexey Adonin has dedicated almost two-decade to conveying his vision of hidden otherworldly realms connected with a timeless source of inspiration. Raised in Eastern Europe, Belarus, Alexey's thirst for mysticism and love for art has been evident from a young age. He began attending children's art school and later went to art college. Today based in Jerusalem, Alexey has exhibited locally and internationally. His works have also been acquired by notable private collections worldwide.
