Le verre bleu Photograph

Born in Normandy, France, in 1949 In my teens, I crossed the English Channel and studied language and commerce in Bournemouth. Although my prime interest had always been painting, in the late "˜60s, I took up a three-year course in photography at the Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and Design. I was soon fascinated by the medium. I worked hard, and was granted a "best-student-award" when I graduated in 1971. I moved to Sweden when I was in my early 20s. I was first employed as a photographer at the Institutet för Färgfoto in Malmö, where I stayed for three years, working on a commission basis and experimenting a great deal. It was then I adopted the large-format camera as my main tool. My personal work introduced me to employment in Stockholm, and I was provided with my own studio by Arbman´s advertising agency (at the time the leading creative agency in Scandinavia). Many award-winning campaigns in Sweden and Norway followed. After several portfolios in Zoom Magazine, I started working internationally. In the year 2000, I moved my studio to a small island in Stockholm´s archipelago where I could more easily find not only the harmony I need, but also the pieces of the puzzle I slowly assemble.
