Dana’s artistic vision manifests itself in various forms, but throughout her career an unflinching allegiance to the feminine divine and a sacred sense of responsibility to and for the natural world has been an unbroken thread through her work. Born in Alabama, where she received a BFA, then on to RISD where she received her MFA, she has called New York her second home for nearly 30 years. Her first memories of intimacy and connection are with the land of her Alabama family farm. This connection to land shaped her creative journey, and continues to anchor who she is and how she responds in the world today. Currently, she has a photography show at The Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, NY. Before that she exhibited work at Maryland Institute College of Art. The exhibition Locus amoenus, challenged conventional notions of what it means to be human in the endless cycle of life. Dana has participated in various shows from Hudson, NY to the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden Holland. She is represented in domestic and international collections and has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States, including the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Chashama and ACA gallery in NYC.
