Limited Edition 1 of 10 + 1 AP signed and numbered on the back. Inkjet print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta® with 3 cm white border. HAVE A NICE DAY is a project by the artist JCT Li, which has been running since August 2010. It started out as a series of digital collages with random images of anonymous people from the Internet. The found images are processed with digital manipulations to such an extent that the characteristics become unrecognizable. This series can be perceived both as a form of digital recycling and as a satirical act in which our perception of aesthetics has been strongly influenced by the digitally altered images. In my newer and more abstract works, I aim to convey certain scenes to the viewer that trigger their own, vast imagination. The visual aspect of the work is engaging, almost physical. HAVE A NICE DAY has been published in several magazines and websites including The California Sunday Magazine (USA), GOOD Magazine (USA), Computer Arts Collection (USA), PAGE Magazine (DE), VIEWPOINT (UK), Neocha (CN), Style Biblio (UK), Capitel Magazine (MX), Glamcult (NL), Thisispaper (PL), The Jealous Curator, Nylon Magazine, Trendland, Art Fucks Me, FILE Magazine, etc. Website:

Originally from Taiwan and later settling in Singapore, JCT Li relocated to Germany in 2008. She earned her MFA in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies from the Bauhaus University of Weimar in 2010. Since then, Li has been dedicated to her ongoing project, "Have a Nice Day." Central to this project are digital artworks created from diverse photographs of random individuals sourced online. Li disrupts the pursuit of "perfection" prevalent in her previous advertising profession by employing digital distortion. With meticulous technique, she seamlessly transforms these images into digital paintings. Li intentionally obscures the subjects' original features, rendering them anonymous and universal. This transformative process gives rise to abstract forms that transcend mere human representation, evoking ephemeral impressions through illogical blocks of color and shapes that challenge the viewer's cognitive expectation of familiar boundaries and recognizable contours. Driven by her artistic exploration, Li hopes to push the boundaries of visual representation. She aspires to create a realm where fleeting impressions and the essence of human presence converge, providing a renewed perspective on our collective visual experience. Going beyond aesthetics, Li's artistic methodology delves into the profound impact of digital tools on our perception of beauty and comprehension of reality, embracing their pervasive influence as catalysts for fresh representations and blurred definitions.
