About The Artwork

Limited edition giclee paper print from an original oil painting. Dimensions shown are image size, not inclusive of white border. Proofed, signed and numbered by the artist, with certificate of authenticity. Canvas also available through artist. This piece speaks to the dichotomy of our dreams as both the burdens, as well as the things that make our lives worth living. Every one of us has unrealized desires. When they are ignored, or not pursued out of fear that we cannot achieve or don’t deserve them, our lives are tethered to an unfulfilled potential. A dilemma that I feel is the cause of most of the sadness in this world. On the contrary, when we pursue those dreams they will immediately lift our spirits and give new meaning to our lives in unimaginably miraculous ways.

About the Artist Award-winning oil painter Paul Bond was born in 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and currently lives and works in Southern California and Costa Rica. Paul Bond's art lives in the spaces between dreaming and reality. Drawing from the Latin American genre of Magic Realism, his paintings merge symbolic, surreal and fantastic elements with realistic atmospheres to unveil a world where everything is possible. At times, they simply express a whimsical aspect of life. Yet most works also carry deeper metaphysical and philosophical messages illuminating the world of our dreams and subconscious thoughts, fears and hopes. Bond’s work has won numerous awards and been featured in galleries, museums and cultural centers, including The Gateway Museum and The San Diego Art Institute. His paintings are now in private collections throughout the US, and worldwide. Corporate collections include Fox, Warner Bros and NBC Studios, Royal Caribbean International, Marriott Hotels, Scripps and Stanford Hospitals; and his works are featured in numerous contemporary art publications.
