Project: DEFRAG Thesis: In today’s world, rational materialism dominates the way we think. In pursuit of financial gain people go to great lengths to become successful and strengthen their position in society, which leads to escalation in urbanization. From a place that is meant to protect against ones’ enemies, a place of cooperation and comfortable coexistence of individuals, the city turns into a concrete chimera. The social stratification of the population leads to a dichotomy when equal rights for all do not mean equal opportunities, which only reinforces this disunity, effectively cultivating individualism. According to Thomas Hobbes, a person is self — centered he may temporarily enter into alliances-contracts, but he is seeking “profit, not fellowship”. The dissolution of such unions does not bring moral suffering to the individual, considering that notions such as friendship, attachment, or affection are alien to him. An individual-atom has no allies; he exists in a bunker mentality and is essentially at war with everyone. Youth, left to its own devices, revolts against the monolith of the city failing to find a better outlet for one’s energy. This struggle is marked by the emergence of new rules, new weapons and a new enemy — the city. Project Description: The interdisciplinary project is made up of objects (sculptures), paintings and drawings, which, by contrasting with each other and at the same time mutually complementing one another, reveal the interplay of the fragile images representing the youth and frigidity of urbanism. '_boditive mention' is an object created on the basis of images received using the face recognition system.
