ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Marko was inspired to create this sculpture because he genuinely believes that showing love and connectivity in the form of a Hug is so necessary in todays world. Although this sculpture represents a loving couple in an embrace, it has elements of joy, yet sorrow. Togetherness, yet parting. This sculpture is one of a number of sculptures Marko has carved in stone over the years from his series The World Needs More Hugs. A long term project spanning 26 years as a sculptor. Bronze, as a medium, is long lasting and reflects his hopes of long lasting peace in this world. Humanity being a key word.
