Missing Disc 02 Sculpture

This piece is part of a collection of kinetic works that was developed during a residency at Ferme-Asile in Switzerland in April 2021. The collection expands on the project concept 'Made to Malfunction' where planned obsolescence is reconsidered, as is the original function of discarded devices and technology. https://www.simonwhetham.co.uk/made-to-malfunction 'Missing Disc 02' takes the playing and reading mechanism of a CD player and repurposes it as a sound-making kinetic artwork.
