Sculpture: Cold Cast Bronze on Bronze.

I was out flyfishing in a little overflow pond when I notice a little deer running along the trail about 20 feet away from me. Just a few steps behind the deer was a cougar. The cougar spotted me and slowed retreated to the edge of the brush. He sat there and watched me until my desire for self-preservation got the better of me and I left. I got the distinct impression that I was no longer at the top of the food chain.
With this piece I wanted the lion's gaze to reflect the confidence that these top predators have when they are in their element.
The mountain lions head is cold cast Bronze, but the base is hand-hewn Limestone. This means that each base is unique, and not exactly as shown in the picture.
