Art Description

Sculpture: Fabric, Paint, Wood, Plastic on Soft (Yarn, Cotton, Fabric), Wood, Other.

Originally created for a project concerning the Second World War, as one of a series of soft sculptures. Formed
out of redundant materials plus children’s party toys plus a shallow wooden base in order to make a statement about the redundancy of life and the casual way that children in the First World are first exposed to the idea of war. This figure is held in a pose reminiscent of the Crucifixion. It is a life cut short, not allowed the free will to express whatever it may be. A life terminated in the cause of others’ failures.
