Chandler Domingos

Chandler Domingos is a contemporary painter living and working in Oklahoma City. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts in 2015. She pulls inspiration from earth formations and erosion to create colorful iterations of nature’s transformation overtime. She has previously made art about themes such as poverty, humor and grief. Chandler is an active member of the Oklahoma City art community serving in Art Group leadership since 2018.

I am inspired by nature and the forces of erosion that change nature overtime. It is not my goal to perfectly capture what nature looks like. Instead I try to capture a glimpse into the process of nature forming over millions of years and imagine what that would look like. To capture the timelessness of millenias into one image on a painting, I rely on color and fluid linework to suggest movement and rhythmic energy.
